In the action of “Mapping” the broader field of the city, the urban terrain of Attica, is transformed into a field of imaginative action of architecture. The imaginative supervision of the map, by a subjectivity that identifies with the urban planner-general, leads to the manifestation of a desire beyond scale and measure. The desire for the city and its territory, which is a desire for the commons, is expressed crudely, as subjectivity is forced out, amidst spectators, into writing on the map with a pouring of dense white paint. A metropolitan park on Mount Hymettus is formed by the flowing paint and is placed in the middle of a city stretching between the Thriasian Plain and the Lavreotiki Peninsula.
Urban planning action, where the project for the new Athens on the borders of Attica is marked on the map with white acrylic paint. From the Keratea Laboratory in the context of the Greek participation in the 9th Venice Architecture Biennale.
