“The Construction of Hymettus” is a multimedia project of narrative poetry, video, landscape architecture and sculptural installation. Since Hymettus in the new geography of Attica-Athens is placed in the middle of the city, its re-inhabitation by the metropolitan crowd as an extensive mountainous field of urban cultivation is sought. The collective memory of the open-air construction of lands for cultivation, as observed in the Mediterranean since prehistoric times, is strengthened again: An extensive terrace construction project on the southern ridge of the mountain would retain soil sufficiently, in order for extensive urban cultivation to occur there and create a new bioclimatic condition with an influence on the nearby urban areas.
